About Us

Catz Ass Lures based out of Shelton Connecticut was founded in 2005 by Jeffrey C. Lobo and his brother Mark J. Lobo.  Jeff had a dream of doing something he loved, and the dream came while he was in Florida working on his fathers 41' Hatteras Sport Fish.  For years previous Jeff had experimented with different Jet Head designs with the help of his father who owns the machine shop which conducts all of our machining. Once Jeff had come home from Florida he announced the opening of Sea Tech Marine and took his top Jet head design and had 100 made and took them to local fishing tackle stores to see if they would carry them one by one stores began to pick them up and hold them on their shelves. Although the company was officially formed in 2005 the company shows business back too 2001 when Jeff and his Father Carlos took up a 38" ocean as a project boat and gutted the vessel and had her painted and customized from  the interior to the exterior. Such things conducted by Carlos the lead engineer were the custom Rocket Launchers, Electronic Box Posts, to custom Light and Flag Pole mount.  In 2005 Sea tech Marine undertook a new project the 41' Hatteras, once again the interior has been stripped and is in the process of being redone with teak and holly floors and all new appliances and cabinets.

Our Jet heads are made from 100% Marine Grade Stainless Steel that are turned, drilled and assembled here in the United States, not only are our jet heads manufactured of Stainless Steel but also our Spreader Bar's.  The benefit of using Stainless Steel is that the finish will never rust let alone peel.  Peeling occurs on many of our competitors lures due to the process they use in order to save money in production.  While we turn our jet heads out of stainless bar stock then polish, they produce theirs out of brass bar stock then chrome them.  Knowing the properties of salt water and how corrosive it is the chrome turns green and becomes pitted loosing its polished finish.  With a big bite from a Tuna on the head the soft brass metal will absorb the teeth therefore puncturing the Chrome coating and therefore the chrome will peel and the lure will be useless.  This is where our lures come in handy there is 100% guarantee that there will be no chipping or peeling in the finish, rather all you may need to do is take stainless polish once a year to your heads to polish them for the season after a seasons usage.

~Our Mission~

In today’s boating industry and the industry in whole everything seems to be coming from China where labor and material cost is cheaper.  We have devised a strategic business plan to make quality and longevity our priority as well as make the customer happy.  We believe manufacturing our lures in Connecticut gives more meaning to the lure itself, because not only are we the manufacturer of our gear but were also the average Joes that fish the gear we sell.

Our Mission is to provide a lure that will last a longer then the boat it fishes aboard! To look sleek and appeasing to the eyes of us humans but as well as that to those fish which cant help but to chomp down on our lures.
